With a background in geography and a Master’s degree in Climate Risks from TU Dresden, I bring a solid understanding of climate change, land use, and food systems to my visual work. Experience with organizations such as NAHhaft e.V. and Umweltzentrum Dresden allows me to combine strong imagery with a clear grasp of ecological and social dynamics.

I am a photographer, cameraman, and visual storyteller focusing on people and initiatives working towards a sustainable and just future. Born in 1984 in Leipzig, I have been working professionally for many years with cultural institutions, media, and organizations in the sustainability field, combining an artistic visual language with a solid understanding of climate and social justice issues.
Climate change is human-made and ranks among the most serious challenges to our ecosystems and societies. Extreme weather events such as heavy rainfall, droughts, heatwaves, and storms are already forcing millions of people to leave their homes, deepening poverty and affecting children in particular. At the same time, billions of people worldwide still lack safe access to clean water – a situation that will intensify as the climate crisis escalates. This reality shapes my perspective and my commitment to creating images that reveal connections rather than oversimplify them.
My background in geography and a Master’s degree in Climate Risks from TU Dresden enable me to accurately situate the ecological, social, and political dimensions of climate change, land use, food systems, and urban development. Experiences such as working with NAHhaft e.V. on sustainable food systems, projects at Umweltzentrum Dresden on agroforestry, drought, and biodiversity, as well as engaging with urban conflicts – from social inequality to the rise of right-wing movements – sharpen my view of power structures, vulnerability, and room for action.
Photography and film are my tools to make these conflicts and hopes tangible. Visual storytelling can convey the urgency of ecological and social crises, document progress, and inspire people to embrace sustainable alternatives – in line with global sustainability goals such as climate action, responsible consumption, and life on land. In my portraits, I am interested in how people take responsibility, work with nature, navigate resistance, and build new alliances despite disinformation and fear.
I believe that the sustainable decisions we make today can help shape a livable future – in our cities, in agriculture, within institutions, and in our everyday lives. As a visual storyteller, I aim to make visible those who are already working towards this future and to create images that do more than document: they invite reflection and action.

Der Klimawandel ist menschengemacht und gehört zu den gravierendsten Herausforderungen für unsere Ökosysteme und Gesellschaften. Extremwetterereignisse wie Starkregen, Dürren, Hitzewellen und Stürme zwingen bereits heute Millionen Menschen zur Flucht, verschärfen Armut und treffen besonders Kinder. Gleichzeitig haben weltweit Milliarden Menschen keinen sicheren Zugang zu sauberem Wasser – eine Situation, die sich durch die Klimakrise weiter zuspitzen wird. Diese Realität prägt meine Haltung und meinen Anspruch, mit Bildern zu arbeiten, die Zusammenhänge sichtbar machen, statt sie zu vereinfachen.
Mein Hintergrund in Geographie und ein Master in Klimarisiken an der TU Dresden ermöglichen es mir, ökologische, soziale und politische Dimensionen von Klimawandel, Landnutzung, Ernährungssystemen und Stadtentwicklung präzise einzuordnen. Stationen wie die Mitarbeit bei NAHhaft e.V. zu nachhaltigen Ernährungsstrukturen, Projekte im Umweltzentrum Dresden zu Agroforst, Dürre und Biodiversität sowie die Auseinandersetzung mit urbanen Konflikten – von sozialer Ungleichheit bis zum Einfluss rechter Gruppen – schärfen meinen Blick für Machtverhältnisse, Verletzlichkeit und Handlungsspielräume.
Fotografie und Film sind für mich Werkzeuge, um diese Konflikte und Hoffnungen erzählbar zu machen. Visuelles Storytelling kann die Dringlichkeit ökologischer und sozialer Krisen vermitteln, Fortschritte dokumentieren und Menschen für nachhaltige Alternativen gewinnen – im Sinne der globalen Nachhaltigkeitsziele, etwa zu Klimaschutz, verantwortungsvollem Konsum und Leben an Land. In meinen Porträts interessiert mich, wie Menschen Verantwortung übernehmen, mit der Natur wirtschaften, mit Widerständen umgehen und trotz Desinformation und Angst neue Allianzen schaffen.
Ich glaube, dass nachhaltige Entscheidungen, die wir heute treffen, eine lebenswerte Zukunft mitgestalten können – in unseren Städten, in der Landwirtschaft, in Institutionen und in unserem Alltag. Als visueller Erzähler möchte ich dazu beitragen, dass diejenigen sichtbar werden, die bereits an dieser Zukunft arbeiten, und Bilder schaffen, die nicht nur dokumentieren, sondern zum Nachdenken und Handeln einladen.
